Have you heard of the term “Marry Out Get Out”? It means that if you are an aboriginal that lives in the reserve and you marry a person that does not live in the reserve you will not be able to live together in the reserve you will lives outside of the reserve. The aboriginals made that rule because they think that if anyone living outside of the reserve comes to stay with them they won’t keep their culture and traditions and everything will change.
There are many effects that can happen when the aboriginals stay in there own reserve by themselves. But one very important one is that if the aboriginals continue to live by themselves in the reserve and the standard is the same as the standard outside of the reserve then in the future it might change and the standard for the aboriginals will still be the same but the standard for community’s outside of the reserve could have changed and developed more. And when the aboriginals try to fit in with everyone else, they struggle because maybe new rules have been made or new laws and it’s hard for the aboriginals to follow along.
I am not with that law because I think that other people that are not aboriginals should be able to come to their reserve. And it can the aboriginals new things. Also when aboriginals keep it their way for many years then when they try to fit in with everyone else, they struggle because maybe new rules have been made or new laws and they cant follow.
But I am also with that law because I understand why aboriginals want to keep there tradditions and culture and they don’t want to change they want to follow what thier ancestors did generations ago.
That saying means that if you are an aboriginal living in a reserve and you marry a person that does not live in the reserve then the people in the reserve will say that you can’t live there. Because if the other person lives in the reserve to the person might not like the way aboriginals live and their traditions so they could change some of the aboriginals traditions to make it more their way so that it is easy to follow along and easy for them to understand. And that is the aboriginal prediction so that is why when people that are not aboriginals want to come in and live they would say” No. You can’t come in you have a different color skin than us. Go away”That is why they don’t let people that are not aboriginals stay in their reserve.
But don’t you think that is resit to people who doesn’t have the same color skin. It might be very offensive to us but that is not what the aboriginals think. From my perspective I think it is resit because judging people by their skin color just to let them live in the reserve is not nice at all.
Some of my Questions
Why does the government let the aboriginals have their own reserve?
Do you think that rule is going to help them see paragraph 2 and the chart. Do you agree?
I have an alternative for that rule. I think it would be fair and equal if anyone is allowed to stay at the reserves but they have to follow most of the tradditions and the new people could also teach the aboriginals new ways they could improve how they live in the reserves.
